Down-the-hole Drill Pipe

Down-the-hole Drill Pipe

DTH Drill Pipes: The ones that don't quit when the ground gets tough
If you've been in the drilling business long enough, you know the nightmare: a drill pipe snaps 50 meters down, or the threads gall so badly you need a blowtorch to get them apart. It shuts down the whole site and eats your profit.
We make our Down-the-hole drill pipe specifically to stop those headaches. They aren't the lightest or the cheapest on the market, but they are built to be the last thing you worry about on-site.

Product Introduction

Jining Dongtai Lite Engineering Machinery Co., Ltd. is one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of down-the-hole drill pipe in China. With abundant experience, we warmly welcome you to buy customized down-the-hole drill pipe made in China here from our factory. Good service and quality products are available.

What makes these pipes worth your money?

They don't snap at the joints

We use friction welding to join the pipe body to the ends. Instead of just "sticking" them together with a bead of weld, this process fuses them into one solid piece of steel. The joint ends up being stronger than the pipe itself.

Threads that actually last

We put the connectors through a nitrogen hardening process (nitriding). This makes the surface extra tough so you can screw and unscrew them all day without the threads stripping or seizing up.

True seamless steel

We use R780 high-strength alloy steel. It's stiff enough to keep your hole straight but has enough "give" to handle the constant pounding of a DTH hammer without cracking.

Best For...

50mm / 60mm

5.5mm - 7.5mm

ZL42 / 2 3/8" API

Small blasting holes and tight spaces.

76mm

6.0mm - 8.5mm

2 3/8" API Reg

The "workhorse" for most water wells and quarries.

89mm

6.5mm - 9.5mm

2 3/8" or 3 1/2" API

Deep holes where you need extra air and torque.

108mm

7.0mm - 10mm

3 1/2" API Reg

Heavy-duty infrastructure and big diameter bores.

A quick heads-up: Because we use thicker walls for better durability, these pipes have some weight to them. Your crew might feel it at the end of the day, but your boss will love the fact that you aren't buying replacements every month.

Real Talk: Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will these threads match my existing rig and hammer?

Yes. We cut our threads on high-precision CNC machines to standard API specs. If your hammer is standard, our Down-the-hole drill pipe will twist right on without any wobbling or air leaks.

Q: I've seen cheaper pipes online. Why should I pay more for yours?

You can definitely find cheaper pipes made from thin-walled, recycled steel. But if one of those snaps inside a 100-meter hole, you've lost the hole, the bit, and the hammer. We use premium R780 steel because it's cheaper to buy a good pipe once than a cheap pipe three times.

Q: How do I keep these in good shape?

It's simple but most people skip it: use decent thread grease and keep the protectors on when you're moving them. Also, try to rotate your lead pipe. If you treat the threads well, they'll treat you well.

Q: How long does it take to get them?

We keep a steady stock of 76mm and 89mm pipes in the warehouse. For standard lengths, we can usually get them on a truck or a ship within a week.

Who are these for?

If you are drilling in soft soil, you might not need this much pipe. But if you're hitting hard granite, basalt, or deep water tables where a equipment failure means a disaster, this is what you want in your drill string.
