Drilling Rig Alloy Drill Bits
Drilling a water well? If you pick the wrong bit, you'll waste time and money. Plain and simple.
We make drilling rig alloy drill bits. Two main types. If your rig or ground is weird, we can build custom too.
Jining Dongtai Lite Engineering Machinery Co., Ltd. is one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of drilling rig alloy drill bits in China. With abundant experience, we warmly welcome you to buy customized drilling rig alloy drill bits made in China here from our factory. Good service and quality products are available.
Step Bits (for clay, sand, soft limestone)
How they work
The step design means less contact at the bottom. Debris clears faster. You spend less time fighting the hole.
What you actually get
Faster drilling. Fewer bit changes.
Built tough
Tungsten carbide wings stay put. Even under heavy torque.
Best for
Farm wells. Speed matters. Cost matters.
Needle-Type Bits (for hard, abrasive rock)
How they work
Needle-shaped teeth don't just polish the rock - they fracture it.
What you actually get
Edges stay sharp longer. Drilling speed stays steady. No sudden slowdowns.
Best for
Sandstone. Weathered rock. Anything that eats normal bits for breakfast.
Need Something Custom?
Different rig? Weird formation? We can build to fit.
What to send us: Hole diameter. Connection type. Formation details.
What you get: A bit that matches your rig exactly. API threads. DCDMA. Whatever you need.
How it works: Send a CAD sketch or rock samples. Our engineers design to your specs.
Lead time: Usually 2–3 weeks.
On a Budget? No Problem
Not every job needs top-tier bits. Shallow well? Low-impact job? We can drop the material grade, tweak the design, and cut costs.
Still reliable. Just not built for heavy-duty formations.
Good for: Pilot wells. Small projects. Tight budgets.
Heat Is a Real Issue
Deep wells get hot fast. We design the water holes to improve cooling and get cuttings out.
Works the same whether you buy premium or economy.
Tip: Pull the bit up now and then. If it's discolored, it's too hot. Cool it down.

FAQs - Straight Answers
Q: Step bit or needle bit - how do I choose?
A: Check your geology report. Soft ground (clay, silt) - step bit clears debris fast. Hard stuff (sandstone) - needle bit keeps its edge longer. Still not sure? Run a small test. See which one drills faster.
Q: How long do these last?
A: Soft ground - a step bit can go hundreds of meters. Hard rock - needle bits usually last 30–50% longer than regular bits because the teeth stay sharp. But high RPM and pressure will wear anything out faster.
Q: Will these fit my rig?
A: Yes. We use standard API and DCDMA threads. If yours is different, send the specs. We'll make it work.
Q: Do they overheat in deep wells?
A: Yes, and it's something to watch. That's why we design the water holes for cooling. Check regularly. If you see discoloration, cool the bit.
Q: Got anything cheaper?
A: Yes. For shallow or soft formations, we use lower-grade materials and simplify the design. Still safe. Just less heavy-duty.
Q: How do I order a custom bit?
A: Send us hole diameter, connection type, and formation details. A rock sample or CAD drawing helps. Usually 2–3 weeks.
Q: Can worn bits be repaired?
A: Once the carbide teeth are rounded, no. If only the thread is worn, we can re-machine it. But replacing is often cheaper.
Q: Is there a minimum order?
A: No. Order one or two. But larger orders get better pricing.
Q: How should I store them?
A: Keep them dry. Long-term storage? Coat with rust preventative oil. Keep somewhere safe where they won't get banged around.
Q: What if the bit gets stuck?
A: Stop rotation. Back off slowly. If it won't budge, don't force it. Could be a collapse or it's wedged. Take a breath, reassess, and try again when it's safe.
Need a quote or a custom bit? Call our tech team. Tell them your hole diameter, formation, and rig connection. We'll get you a drilling rig alloy drill bit that fits your job - not some one-size-fits-all thing.
